A solitary White Stumpnose, Rhabdosargus globiceps, materialises momentarily out of the gloom presenting itself for a portrait before melting away. These are incredibly shy fish and disappear at the faintest noise or disturbance and I felt extremely fortunate to get this image. The way that it translated into print completely encapsulated my sentiments of this brief encounter.

Shooting Black & White film underwater, on breath hold and then going into the darkroom to produce a unique ‘Lith Print’ I was able to capture and portray a
distinctive interpretation of what I encountered on my countless free dives in and around Cape Town.
This series of prints remains some of my favorite and most treasured work.
