I am fortunate enough to be from a time when everything was done in camera and the necessary skills were mastered. The shot was done and the film went off to the lab.
Shooting liquids and beverages, the “decisive moment” strand in my work is predominant and as technology and creative processes have evolved with software tools, my understanding of time and a given moment/s has led me to consider them as one. Working in parts, condensing events to one final visual, I now have an expanded grasp of the “Vision… Timing.” concept that I feel defines my work. I used to view it as a single moment in time and did my utmost to capture it, now I view it as having the overall vision to successfully condense moments into a single dynamic frame.
Photography and retouching have morphed into a complete process which when working with liquids, splashes and moving bottles presents a great creative freedom.
