What I really like about commercial assignments apart from getting paid, is that they really stretch you, make you learn, force you to look for inspiration and a standard and reimagine what is possible.
They also take you to places you would never have gone to on your own.
Other peoples businesses. And you always get the best seat in the house because you need to showcase what they are offering so they put you right up front and for the most part make sure you have what you need.
It’s a great responsibility actually but I always think back on some advice I got right at the beginning of my career when I was packing for my first job abroad with an International client. “Treat it as a holiday, get up early and go take some snaps”
It worked like a charm and now many years later that’s what my holidays have become as I shoot pictures for my Fine Art Gallery.
