Your Window to Captivating Photographs
Franschoek Valley in the glory of spring bathed in glowing last light as the sun sets over distant Cape Fold mountains.
This image was taken in October at the height of spring. After a wet winter the flowers and blossoms are at their peak and the South Easter has not yet begun to blow. There is a window of about 2 weeks and then it starts degrading as the wind takes it’s toll on the flowers. It is the most glorious time to be out in the landscape and the moisture in the air creates the golden sunsets as the light travels and refracts through the particles in the sky. One of the oldest towns of the Republic of South Africa and home to the French Hugenots that fled religious persecution this wonderful town with it’s rich heritage is a popular tourist destination and has been described as the food and wine capital of South Africa.
