Johnson was the nicest man.

“Nice man” is a really South African phrase but he really was a fine fellow and the most wonderful house painter.

“It’s all in the preparation China” he would tell me and then proceed to spend weeks doing a task. ( he was on a daily rate of course) The thing was he did it properly and it took as long as it took. I was never sorry I got him in to do the jobs for me that he did and we spent hundreds of hours working together for over 8 months whilst we restored my house.

He was a master of his craft and I miss him to this day.

I used a paint on liquid emulsion on a textured art paper and then printed it in the darkroom. Each print created a different image according to how the emulsion was applied.
