The vast space stretches endlessly, suspended in silence. One can almost hear the pink light creeping along the mountain range as it makes it way in from the east. The coolness of morning is amplified and I wonder how many people have enjoyed this very view and the quiet spectacle before me. The call of a distant bird drifts up from the dam behind me adding another dimension to the grand scene unfolding and I savour it.

Within moments the dawn’s warm hues have slipped into a sharper, harder light and the fleeting magic moment is no more.In the hush of the transformed sky I’m reminded that while the light races on, memory lingers and I am thankful to have witnessed it’s coming and going.
