A fast runner, capable of speeds up to  50km/h their long legs enable them to outrun danger, walk considerable distances and even swim well. I wanted to photograph an Emu in a manner that captured and portrayed this and opted for a tracking shot on a longish lens with a slow shutter speed.

Heading down to Fisheries, Port Lincoln, South Australia we came across an energetic candidate and it obliged me. I have always loved capturing motion in a variety of forms and ways. Sometimes frozen action best tells the story, but in this instance the blur enhanced the speed and I was really pleased with the result.
