‘Welcome to Cape Town” is an image that I spent 2 years trying to get. I am always looking to try and create and capture iconic imagery that defines an experience and place.

Sometimes you get the whale in the correct position and then it is one of those that just doesn’t lift it’s tail, or it’s cloudy, or it’s swimming all over the show and you can’t get the distance in relation to the whale and the mountain correct.

In this instance, a Southern Right Whale cruised through Table Bay, Cape Town, South Africa on a calm, glassy day and  lifted it’s tail in greeting to Table Mountain.
